Portsmouth and all things Royal Navy...:)

Beloved had to go to Portsmouth for work, so I tagged along... What better chance to scout the place in anticipation of the Official Visit with the Navy Ladies at some point next year?? :)
It.was.AWESOME.
(I am talking of the historic dockyard here... Those of the famous accidentally suggestive poster...).
I only had time to see the Victory - I now have a ticket that lasts a year, and I *will* go to see the Mary Rose, the Museum etc.
Being on the Victory was a great emotion - I have started to see what Erestor finds so fascinating about this whole Navy business, and I might have to be very careful I don't find myself sucked in as it were...
I stood on the spot where Nelson was shot, and on the very deck that went to Trafalgar and back (most of the wood had to be replaced because she was rotting...).
My only sadness is that she is in dry dock, but I guess we should be happy she survived at all.
Anyway.
For the one and only Master Erestor:

Didn't do her justice. Next time.........:)

This will be the meeting of all meeting next year. Portsmouth hasn't seen such frolicking in ages, I tell you.
