Actual conversation with a recruiter this morning:
"Keep in mind that I will be going to Jersey on the 30th, back on the 3rd of July - I am free for interviews from the 4th"
"But... If you are leaving the country there is no point in contacting the employer for you...!"
"But I am not leaving the country!"
"You said that you are going to Jersey!"
"Yes... Jersey, Channel Islands?"
"...??"
"...Part of the country???"
I rest my case.
Remember my strawberry plants?
They are doing extremely well - growing and bearing fruit.
I had been cultivating the one strawberry that was nearly ready - checking for snails etc every morning, watering the plant, blooming talking to it.
Looked at it on Monday morning with extreme pride, planning to pick it, photograph it and eat it (with honey and cream, of course...) on my return from Canterbury.
Seems it proved too much of a temptation for somebody...................
Got back, the strawberry was gone.
Annoyed doesn't even begin to convey how I felt.
Had it been a bird or an insect I wouldn't have minded as much.
The strawberries have now been relocated to the kitchen windowsill. They won't probably ripen as well, but at least they will be eaten by *me*.
