Feb. 12th, 2006

I swear we dealt with the last one two minutes ago. And I still haven't recovered from it, or from Xmas.

Somehow the immortal line 'short and painful' cames to mind. Two months of grace, and next thing we know it's going to be 2007.
I am not exaggerating - I have seen the release schedule.......

Have finally met my Canadian friend - YAY!! Although he's a BAD influence... Has been giving me ideas about new glass I can't afford, and he makes me feeel bad because he *never* goes anywhere without his camera. I guess I am not as dedicated, or maybe I am a little more paranoid with my kit.

And tomorrow it's back to the vet for operation #2 - I really do hope that this will be where we find what's *actually* wrong with Marbles. I mean - it's been two months now.

...one loved cat, she is.....:-)

Had to arrange for somebody to come and feed her tonight (the vet said no food after 8pm, and I was at work until 10), and since her regular Auntie was at work herself, her new Uncle served her dinner and cuddles... He'll get a serious dinner cooked for him sometime this week.
The sweet thing is that my friend didn't mind at all - he's quite fond of her and she flirts with him. Scarlet cat that she is...:-)
Took work stuff home with me again tonight - foolishly, because I am not going to have time to do anything anyway (for once, all my free time will be taken by my social life - amazing!).
Maybe tomorrow morning though - between taking Marbles to the surgery and meeting Jack. there are people I have GOT to call/email.
Not going to email work people tonight - have to catch up on *personal* emails first... I am very very grateful my friends put up with my erratic (and sporadic) attempts at keeping up with things.

On other news - the bird colony in the garden is back to the seasonal nesting strenght. Meaning - you just try and get any sleep with the racket going on outside my window in the morning!

The Bluetit couple from last year (at least I think they are the same birds...) have nested/are nesting again under the roof, only this time it's more to the left of the window.
And I have had this particular conversation several times already - YES I KNOW that Bluetits DO NOT nest under roofs. Nobody told those two, apparently.
AND I have pictures to prove it.

...hmmmmm.... do Bluetits use old nests every year? If yes, then that's a *different* couple...

I saw the resident Robin perched on a low branch yesterday - looking at me, as if to say 'Well, and WHERE are the seeds then? Hm? Forgot again, haven't you...'
Lots of little brown jobs chasing each other too - probably sparrows, because they are not Wrens.
I never knew that I was going to turn into a bird spotter because I love photography....

H, foound a bird sanctuary somewhere in Dorset (I think) by accident, because he went somewhere to have his car fixed and a had a few hours to kill.
His exact words were: '...the Herons were practically tripping over each other, there were so many of them.'
My response was - so, WHEN are we going???

Then yesterday he sends me a sample of the pics he's taken, because *of course* the traitor has been back already.......without me............................!!!!
But the reason why I forgive him is that he's sent me two new desktop backgorounds before I could ask.........:-)
Both herons, of course, and both fantastic. The one gracing my screen looks like it was done in 3D - oyu feel like you could just reach out and touch it...
...I shoot with bloody Michelangelo, I tell you!
